Join in the Movement on May 6 for a National Day of Giving

On Tuesday, May 6, 2014, hundreds of community foundations across the country will lead the effort in a 24-hour giving challenge in celebration of the 100th anniversary of philanthropy through the work of community foundations nationwide. The national movement “Give Local America,” is meant to ignite the spirit of giving in local communities through a day of giving that will commence on May 6 at 12am and end at 11:59pm.

In a day aimed at inspiring and uniting local communities to support philanthropic causes, Community Foundations will use this day of giving to raise money for Reading Partners and other local nonprofits through online donation platforms. The day of giving provides a great way to connect donors to the local charitable causes they care about most and encourage them to take action.

At Reading Partners we know everyday is a day of giving, with over 7,000 tutors nationwide helping 88% of students increase their rates of learning. This is yet another special day and we hope you will join us by participating in the movement of giving!

Through the generosity of the Pearlstine Family and several anonymous donors, gifts to selected education nonprofits, including Reading Partners, will be amplified, expanding the financial impact of each gift and creating the opportunity for a truly transformative day.

Every day is giving day in Charleston. We have over 500 Community Volunteers who GIVE their time every week to help kids in Charleston learn to read. Reading Partners Charleston is excited to be part of the Lift the Lowcountry movement on May 6, a day that will show, yet again, how the Charleston community is truly working together to make it a better place for us all.

Join East Bay Gives

Join a national movement on May 6th by supporting literacy programming in local East Bay schools!

This year, Reading Partners will recruit, train and support hundreds of East Bay community members to become high-impacts literacy intervention tutors for at least 550 low-income elementary school students who have fallen below grade level in literacy.
