ABC 5 – Reading Partners and Minnesota Twins Book Fair

December 19, 2023

The Reading Partners Twin Cities team had a blast running a school wide book fair at Northrop Elementary. With help from volunteers at the Minnesota Twins (and special guests T.C. Bear and hall of famer, Bert Blyleven), we sent two brand new books home with each student –  this totaled to 770 books donated, making this the largest book fair we have ever run!

Word of the event spread, and we were joined by a reporter for KSTP, who gave our bookfair a shoutout on the local news later that night! (See clip below).

As we move into the new year, we are continuing to scale our program and increase the number of students we will serve. We currently have nearly 100 students on our waitlists ready to start their tutoring sessions, and we are still looking for new community volunteers to join us. For as little as one hour a week, you can make a difference in your community and in a local student’s life. Click here to learn more about joining us as a tutor.
