Go back to school with Reading Partners

September 4, 2024

This week marks the first day of school for many students across Minnesota! While students and families are adjusting to their new schedules and the excitement of a new year, Reading Partners has been hard at work preparing for another great year of tutoring.

The 2023-24 school year was a productive and exciting year for our program and our students: 89% of our students hit their end of year growth goals, and we sent home more than 10,000 books to students through our book giveaway programs. We are immensely proud of our students and their growth, and are grateful for our wide network of supporters for their part in making this happen. You can see more about our results from last year in our 2023-2024 impact report:

Coming off of such a strong year, Reading Partners is excited to make the 2024-2025 school year our best one yet, with the goal of serving even more students than last year. We have added new partner schools this year, including our expansion to Faribault, Minnesota – our largest expansion outside of the Twin Cities metro area! Thanks to this growth, there will now be limited virtual tutoring opportunities in addition to our traditional, in-person programming at all of our partner schools.

Our tutors are paired one-on-one with a student for the duration of the school year, forming valuable relationships that contribute to student success. Tutors commit to volunteering one hour per week, fostering reading skills growth through our easy-to-use, evidence-based curriculum.

September is a critical time for our program as we recruit and onboard tutors who are ready to begin as soon as students are ready later this fall. This month, we aim to have 200 new volunteer signups to keep up with the growth of our program. Will you go back to school with Reading Partners this Fall and join us as a volunteer?
