Celebrating 10 years in the books!

August 17, 2022

Please join us as we celebrate 10 years in the books! Reading Partners South Carolina’s annual fundraising event, Books & Breakfast, will be held on October 12 at the Francis Marion Hotel. We are excited to come together again in person to celebrate Reading Partner’s 10th anniversary in South Carolina. Reading Partners first entered the South Carolina education landscape in the fall of 2012 preceding a merger with local literacy program Book Buddies. Since then, we have grown substantially and have expanded into multiple counties in the Lowcountry. Reading Partners South Carolina now serves an average of 700 students each year with the help of over 800 community volunteers.

We are thrilled to hear from guest speaker Chris Singleton, a Reading Partners South Carolina board member, inspirational speaker, and children’s book author. His commitment to literacy and educational equity has had a big impact on students in South Carolina and across the country. Read more about Chris here

For our 10th anniversary, we are looking back on our progress while also thinking about the future impacts Reading Partners can have on students in South Carolina. We are dedicated to creating more confident readers and helping students dream big over the next 10 years! Reading is the foundation of making our dreams possible. Supporters can help students build a strong foundation in literacy by making a donation, becoming a volunteer tutor, or telling a friend about Reading Partners!
