Joye in the Community

February 21, 2018

Reading Partners South Carolina is the proud February recipient of Joye in the Community, an initiative by Joye Law Firm to give back to the community.

To celebrate their 50th year in operation, each month during 2018 Joye Law Firm is honoring a different nonprofit with a financial contribution, as well as, a commercial to help raise awareness for the organization’s mission. You can watch Reading Partners’ commercial below.

Since becoming a community partner in 2017, Joye Law Firm has already given so much to our students and program. They served as a corporate sponsor for the Cynthia Graham Hurd book drive in July which resulted in 11,000 books being donated to Reading Partners. The firm also served as a corporate sponsor for Books & Breakfast, where their investment allowed us to share our mission with community supporters, as well as, launch our Page Turner Society. Kenny Harrell, managing partner of the firm, has been instrumental in forging this new partnership with Reading Partners, and is an inaugural Page Turner member with his wife Jeannie, who served as a tutor at our Sanders Clyde reading center.

“At Joye Law Firm, we realize that our success is closely tied to our community’s success. We founded the “Joye in the Community” program to recognize many of the good people and organizations who work every day to better people’s lives.”

Reading Partners is a natural fit for our program because of the measurable, positive impact that it has on the lives of both its students and volunteers. Giving a child a strong reading foundation is crucial to their long-term success and happiness. We are proud to lend our support to this very worthy cause.

Community partners like Joye Law Firm ensure our program can provide students necessary skills to succeed in the classroom and beyond. We are so grateful to Joye Law Firm for their support and congratulate them on 50 years of business in the Charleston community!
