What are you most excited about this year?
I am excited about being back in the school community with all the kids, teachers, and tutors. I am super excited about experiencing the magic of seeing students’ self esteem grow. As they start to learn to read, they become more excited to read and their desire to read grows. I am excited to witness the great interactions between tutors and students within my reading center as they share the joy that comes from feeling accomplished. Finally, I am excited about all the new experiences that this year is going to bring and all the learning possibilities.

What are you most excited about this year?
The thing I’m most excited about is continuing to have a huge impact on student success. I’m excited to build on the relationships I made with students and teachers last year in order to best achieve said success. I’m also looking forward to strengthening my working relationships with Reading Partners’ staff members and learning all about the new AmeriCorps members. Best of all, I’m looking forward to seeing our smiling students!

What are you most excited about this year?
As a Senior AmeriCorps member, I am excited to be a resource and support to the new AmeriCorps members. I remember how scary it was last year to adjust into the position. It was beneficial to have Senior Members be available to help me in my time of need. With their support I was able to learn about literacy curriculums, keeping up with data and how to network. I am also excited to hear more from the incoming AC members, as they bring a lot to the table and are from different backgrounds and have new perspectives.

What are you most excited about this year?
As a senior member this year, I am most excited about the potential to grow as a leader and a doer. Professional development as an AmeriCorps member and literacy expertise as a member of the Reading Partners’ community, are very important to me. The experience last year opened my eyes to education and its value in society. The work I do with Reading Partners has become a critical part of who I am today. I want to help more students, and have a greater impact than before. I want their growth this year to reflect the hard work they do and that the Reading Partners community does.

What are you most excited about this year?
I am most excited to continue making a difference; to make our communities better. This past year has helped me a lot with future career plans, and just becoming an overall better person. It has taught me how the things I am able to do will have such a positive impact on the communities we live in. Seeing the differences I made in students’ educational growth was something amazing. I’m currently in school studying education, so seeing firsthand the everyday struggles that our students face in school will help me as I become a great educator, giving our students what they need and deserve! I believe all children are capable of learning and are able to reach their highest potential once given opportunities and proper support. I believe it takes a village to raise a child, and Reading Partners can provide that village.
