Abby Mayer

Abby joined Reading Partner with a decade of experience in education both in and out of the classroom and combines that passion with her fundraising skills to serve as the director of development. After earning her degree from Angelo State University, in San Angelo, TX, she taught English for seven years in both urban and suburban schools in Colorado and Texas. After leaving the classroom, she served as the grant manager and director of philanthropy at Genesis Women’s Shelter in Dallas, until the pull to move back into education took Abby to Dallas ISD. There she worked in human capital management, focusing on increasing teacher quality, strategic planning, and building sustainable systems. She is currently pursuing her master’s in business administration from Southern Methodist University with a concentration in business analytics and organizational management. She is eager to bring her love of reading and to serve her community together to positively impact students in North Texas.
