Andrea Ahlert

Andrea is a California native and has worked in the field of education for over 10 years, starting as an instructor at Cazadero Performing Arts. Before joining Reading Partners, she also taught as a private tutor, Peace Corps volunteer, and teacher trainer. She has expertise in pedagogy, professional development, and program management. Andrea holds a BA in sociology from the University of California Santa Barbara, a MA in sociology of education from Teachers College, Columbia University. As program manager for Hayward, Union City, and Milpitas, Andrea is excited to be a part of an organization that enhances literacy achievement in Title I schools and fosters a love of reading in children. Her favorite children’s book is The Paper Bag Princess.
