Elaine Tang

Elaine is joining Reading Partners as a program manager for the Queens and East Harlem school sites. Prior to Reading Partners, she taught in public elementary schools in New Jersey as a general education and academic intervention teacher. Elaine is a proud Rutgers University alumna where she earned her bachelor’s in English literature and master of education in elementary/special education. At Rutgers, she served as an Urban Teaching Fellow through which she became passionate about culturally responsive pedagogy, effecting social change through education, and redressing the societal factors that contribute to the achievement gap.
