Malik Stewart

Malik Stewart has 20 years of experience in education; with a focus on Title I school communities.  He served as an instructional coach for Head Start in Wilmington, DE and in targeted public elementary schools in Washington DC. Malik oversaw afterschool program operations and partnerships in Philadelphia, PA public schools. As an administrator with the Delaware Department of Education, he coordinated the state’s $3 million support system; helping 13 schools to exit improvement status and aiding two Title I schools in becoming National Blue Ribbon awardees. As the manager of federal programs with the Red Clay School District (DE), Malik oversaw over Title I, school improvement, community schools, preK and parent/community engagement; helping to expand Title I preK and pilot a parent university program. Recently, he led the grant programs for the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth, managing over $4 million in awards to support strategic goals. Malik has earned a bachelor’s degree in art design from North Carolina A&T State University, a Master’s of Education from Cabrini University and an outcomes-based program evaluation certificate from CNM. Malik believes that literacy is a pathway to success, and that all children deserve to have caring adult help them grow as readers.
