Rachel became involved in service-learning as a volunteer tutor for a local after-school program while she earned her bachelor’s in English from Birmingham-Southern College. From there, she worked in public policy, refugee resettlement, and reading instruction for students with special needs. Last year, Rachel participated in our launch of Don Benito Fundamental School’s new reading center as their first site coordinator.
