Stephanie Enaje

Stephanie is a long-time educator committed to closing the opportunity gap for students and families in historically underserved communities. She grew up in Houston, Texas, and came to Washington D.C. in 2004 as a City Year AmeriCorps member. A year of service ignited her passion to address racial injustices through education and service. After graduating from The University of Maryland with a Criminal Justice degree, she went on to explore cultural competency in the social justice sector through service abroad with an International Development graduate program. Her career in education began as a teaching fellow with KIPP Houston and has since been teaching in elementary classrooms in Houston, Washington D.C., and New York City. She is currently exploring opportunities to deepen her understanding of early literacy development and sharing that knowledge with others invested in this work.
